As vehicles become increasingly connected and software-driven, the importance of cybersecurity in the automotive sector continues to grow. One of Sweden’s key industrial organisations is now reinforcing its cybersecurity capabilities to stay ahead of evolving digital threats.
To support this work, we are seeking a technically adept and forward-thinking Cyber Security Consultant to join a team dedicated to enhancing the resilience of electronic control units (ECUs), in-vehicle networks, and diagnostics systems. This is a high-impact role where your contributions will directly influence the safety and security of future transport solutions.
About the Role
You will work at the intersection of automotive electronics and cybersecurity, designing and implementing defensive protocols that safeguard vehicle architectures from cyber threats. From secure boot and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) integration to advanced penetration testing and vulnerability analysis, your expertise will help embed robust cybersecurity measures throughout the vehicle development lifecycle.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Södertälje. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and R&D to ensure that vehicle platforms meet the latest standards in cybersecurity.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and deploy security protocols for embedded automotive systems, including secure boot processes and TPM integration
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security weaknesses across vehicle ECUs and networks
- Provide technical guidance on secure software development practices and diagnostic tools
- Work closely with engineering teams to integrate security measures into vehicle system architectures
- Monitor and analyse emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies in the automotive space
- Support debugging and troubleshooting with a focus on maintaining secure diagnostics
What We Are Looking For
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related disciplines
- Proven experience in cybersecurity roles within the automotive industry
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive communication protocols, including CAN and CAN FD
- Experience implementing secure boot, TPM, and network security mechanisms in embedded systems
- Familiarity with penetration testing tools and techniques applied to vehicle systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply structured approaches to complex challenges
Preferred qualifications:
- Background in secure diagnostics, embedded system hardening, or compliance with ISO/SAE 21434
- A track record of staying up to date with evolving industry threats and cybersecurity standards
