A major innovator in the transport and mobility industry is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Feature Specialist in Fire Safety to contribute to critical product updates across a variety of vehicle types, from diesel engines to cutting-edge fuel cell electric systems.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of engineering, compliance, and product development, with the goal of enhancing thermal protection and preventing fire-related incidents in new and evolving vehicle platforms. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on the safety and reliability of tomorrow’s mobility solutions.

About the Role

  • Define and establish installation requirements for fire safety across multiple driveline types
  • Coordinate and execute external fire tests, engaging with accredited third-party laboratories
  • Provide engineering teams with technical guidance on fire-resistant materials and component layout
  • Assist with safety audits and installation reviews to ensure full regulatory and internal compliance
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and analysis related to fire protection strategies
  • Support product owners and customers by ensuring safe, reliable system integration from early studies to deployment

What We Are Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Master of Science or equivalent experience)
  • Proven knowledge and practical understanding of fire protection, heat management, or safety-critical systems
  • Experience working with thermal risk areas such as:
    • Diesel or LNG systems
    • Battery Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
    • Hydrogen systems, including fuel cells or combustion engines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with a proactive, goal-oriented approach
  • Familiarity with writing or interpreting technical reports and regulatory texts
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for external testing coordination and partner engagement

What You Can Expect

  • A strategically important role shaping the safety performance of advanced vehicle platforms
  • Involvement in cross-functional automotive product development with a clear focus on real-world impact
  • Dynamic, collaborative work with internal stakeholders and external research institutes
  • On-site presence in Gothenburg, with hands-on engagement in testing and vehicle programs
  • A full-year freelance contract starting 5 May 2025, with potential for further extension
