Drive the Execution of Complex Grid Projects in the Heart of the Nordics

We are looking for a highly skilled Java developer who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications working alongside internal stakeholders for web design features, usability, and implementation of applications, APIs, and other related systems. The Senior Java Developer will be required to oversee a project from conception to final product, requiring excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.A major infrastructure initiative is underway to modernise and expand the regional power transmission network in Central Sweden. To support this critical transformation, we are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead and deliver high-impact grid development projects within a technically advanced and safety-focused environment.

This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of key infrastructure initiatives that shape the reliability and capacity of the Nordic electricity grid. The projects span both urban and rural environments and involve extensive collaboration with engineering partners, utility companies, municipalities, and regional stakeholders.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of grid infrastructure projects, including high-voltage overhead lines and underground cable installations at or above 70 kV. You will work within the region's project execution team and play a central role in aligning engineering, procurement, field execution, and stakeholder engagement activities.

This is a full-time assignment requiring your presence on-site approximately 50 percent of the time, with the remainder split between the field and other project-related locations. You will be based at one of the primary offices in Solna, Västerås, or Uppsala. Regular interaction with field teams is essential, and protective equipment in line with safety guidelines is required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead technical implementation of regional grid infrastructure projects with full accountability for timeline, budget, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee planning, risk management, and project resourcing, ensuring delivery within agreed project parameters
  • Facilitate collaboration among contractors, designers, clients, end users, and other key stakeholders
  • Drive progress through motivational leadership, setting clear expectations for project team members and promoting strong team cohesion
  • Represent the project and act as liaison with external stakeholders, including other network owners and public authorities
  • Act as mentor and advisor for junior project managers within the program
  • Actively manage opportunities and risks, and ensure all methodologies, tools, and materials are fit for purpose

What We Are Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Academic degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Over ten years of experience in managing complex grid infrastructure or utility projects
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams in technical environments
  • Strong familiarity with AMA Anläggning, AMA El, and Swedish construction law (AB 04 and ABT 06)
  • Documented delivery of at least five cable and/or overhead line projects at 70 kV or higher, with AMA standards applied in at least three of them
  • Valid certification in ESA EBR-ESA-E1 or equivalent within 30 days of contract signing
  • Valid certification in BAS-P and BAS-U or equivalent within 30 days of contract signing
  • Track record of leading at least three procurement projects governed by AMA
  • Documented experience of at least one collaboration project involving external network owners and stakeholders
  • Experience in both overhead and underground transmission line projects
