Safeguard the Quality of Financial Technology in a Fast-Paced Agile Environment

An established niche bank based in Stockholm is enhancing its payment and transaction services, placing quality assurance and automation at the center of its technology strategy. To support this initiative, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Tester with a strong background in automated testing, system integration, and financial systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team driving quality and security within a high-stakes banking environment. The assignment offers a mix of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility and involves working with an international, cross-functional team spanning Sweden and India.

About the Role

As a Technical Tester, you will work as a key member of an agile team responsible for ensuring the functionality, stability, and security of the bank’s payment solutions. Your responsibilities will span from test planning and data generation to execution, documentation, and reporting, using tools like Ready API and Postman.

The current focus is on front-end systems that manage payment flows and transfers. You will play a hands-on role in developing test automation, creating and managing test environments, and collaborating closely with developers and architects. The work is conducted in accordance with the SAFe framework, so prior certification and experience in SAFe are required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Independently plan, document, and execute acceptance and system integration tests
  • Drive quality assurance activities for payment solutions, from design through release
  • Generate test data and support test leaders with environment setup and mock creation
  • Work closely with developers, architects, and business teams to ensure testing aligns with functional needs
  • Write bug reports, assist in troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous improvements
  • Apply risk-based testing methodologies and ensure compliance with established processes
  • Present test outcomes clearly to stakeholders and maintain full transparency throughout the process

What We Are Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Higher education or vocational training in a relevant technical field
  • Over ten years of experience in technical testing within large organisations
  • Minimum five years of experience with integration testing
  • Solid hands-on experience with Ready API (including SOAP UI)
  • Practical experience using SQL and testing Oracle or other relational databases
  • Proven experience testing APIs and web services, with practical use of Postman
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery workflows
  • Experience in full-cycle system testing and release coordination
  • Comfortable working in both Swedish and English, spoken and written
  • Prior work in agile teams, with formal SAFe certification and practical experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous responsibility for release and configuration management in test and production environments
  • Familiarity with administrative tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms

What You Can Expect

  • A quality-focused role at the heart of one of Stockholm’s specialised financial institutions
  • Full engagement in agile development, with a high degree of autonomy and influence
  • Opportunities to work with cross-national teams and technologies at the intersection of finance and innovation
  • A hybrid working model that offers both collaboration and flexibility
  • Assignment scheduled to start mid-May, running through October with a strong possibility for extension
